Listening to the right spiritual advice can refresh you and give you the confidence required to carry on in any endeavor.

Life sometimes has a special way of tossing surprises at you and making you feel like you need to hide under a rock for a few years. The more you feel beaten by these blows, the less likely it is you’ll feel motivated to tackle all you set out to do. Thankfully, there are ways to pull yourself out of this low place and get back on track. Listening to the right spiritual advice can refresh you and give you the confidence required to carry on. Consider these tips to find what you need.

Embrace the Unexpected

There is a lot of wisdom to be found in the old saying, “If you want to make God laugh, make a plan.” The phrase suggests that no matter how much a person focuses on events playing out in a certain way, one can never tell what will happen. When you expect a specific outcome and it does not come to pass, it is easy to feel defeated. This is true of everything from trying to get a promotion at work to hoping you land a date with the person you’ve been admiring from afar.

The best way to handle life’s letdowns is by learning to embrace the unexpected. Creating expectations is an easy way to feel disappointed. Instead, understand that people might respond to your ideas in ways you don’t anticipate and your plans might need to adjust to fit these changes. Rolling with the punches also makes it easier to think of solutions rather than crumbling beneath the weight of what has upset you.

The Learning Never Ends

The older you get, the easier it becomes to feel assured in how you perceive the world. This is because science has shown that people tend to rely on established personal beliefs more as they age and become less open to other perspectives. Sadly, this level of blind confidence can often do more harm than good. When you think you are correct, you do not always hear what other people have to say. Life is a learning process, which means you never truly have all the answers you think you do. Assuming otherwise limits your ability to grow.

Though plenty of people fear doubt, it is a sensation that should not be ignored. Uncertainty is a way of taking a deeper look at your core ideas and philosophies. By putting your foot down and proclaiming you already have all the answers, you are really declaring you are unwilling to put your ideas under the microscope.

Your Resources Are Limited

It is easy to feel pressure when you look at a calendar and realize how many obligations are on your horizon. While you might already know resources like your time are limited, it stands to reason you aren’t using this knowledge to your advantage. For many, understanding how limited time can be is an easy way to bring on an anxiety attack. Knowing how little time you have can be a powerful force when you use it with a sense of purpose. Instead of taking on a lot of tasks and stressing out, start making changes.

The power of the word “no” can be formidable. When you start saying no to people who are asking for your time, attention, or emotional energy, it can help you use what you have available with greater intention. Use the same approach as you do with your finances and create a “budget” of your time. This will help you know what you can and can’t afford to give to others.

Often, people are too hard on themselves for falling short of their expectations. When life throws a curveball your way, learn to forgive yourself when you don’t respond the way you’d hoped. Find spiritual advice to motivate you. It can do wonders to help you change the way you perceive yourself.
